  • My Story

O’shane Howard’s visual language is a reflection of his sensibilities toward the affective. The self-taught Toronto-based photographer, creative director and filmmaker draws on nostalgia pulled from regional or collective cultural memory and uses his lens to capture the spontaneity within those moments.

Knowing the communicative power of both moving and still images, Howard’s signature style has occupied editorial and commercial spaces. His approach has afforded him opportunities to be commissioned by an extensive list of clients that include Nike, Adidas, Roots, Universal Music Group, TD Bank, Appleton Estate and more. His work has also been featured in group and solo exhibitions curated by the Art Gallery Of Ontario, the Montrèal-based cultural hub Never Apart and the MICHELIN Guide-recognized Chubby's Jamaican Kitchen.

Collectively, his body of work spanning across various industries aims to elevate our connection to and with people and be an educational tool for increasing cultural awareness.
